Why Specialise?

"Being a member, particularly being accredited as a SPAA Specialist Advisor, is extremely important to me as it means my specialisation as an SMSF accountant is properly recognised" Julie Taylor, SSA of Keep it Simple Super

"….being a specialist member has significance, previously a lot of people in the superannuation business didn't take SMSF seriously, now they do and SPAA is the only organisation supporting them"  Keith Inns, SSA of SMSF Works

The SPAA Specialist Accreditation Program offers independent certification of an advisor from either the wholesale or retail sectors, and has been designed to test and verify their knowledge, skills, competence, history and experience at a particular point in time. It is important to note therefore that the Specialist Accreditation Program is not an Education Program. Ongoing education and CPD requirements ensure that the requisite level of professional knowledge is maintained.

Through SPAA's Specialist Accreditation Program, SPAA Specialist Members demonstrate that they have attained the benchmark in professional standards set by the association and can use the SPAA specialist accreditation brands to promote and differentiate themselves in this competitive and complex market.

If you feel that you need additional education prior to entering the Specialist Accreditation Program, the SPAA National Training Register contains a range of independently assessed, SPAA endorsed educational opportunities. These courses have been developed by a range of education providers to meet SPAA standards. This provides you with the flexibility to manage your own professional knowledge requirements by identifying the training course/education program that will best suit your particular needs, including timelines, availability and budget, in preparing for the Specialist Accreditation Program and developing your skills in SMSF advice.
