Events
Regular SPAA events are a priority to provide members with
regular and ongoing support and networking opportunities. SPAA
provides forums which to suit all members in Australia. Upcoming Events
National Conferences
The SPAA National Conference is the pre-eminent event on an SMSF
professionals' calendar and is held in February each year.
Members are encouraged to attend the National Conference for both
their technical content and networking opportunities. View

State Technical Conferences
SPAA's State Technical Conferences are held each year in August.
These one-day events are held in each state and provide
opportunities for strategic, technical and working case studies.
The Technical Conferences are designed to build on current
education and knowledge. Members' feedback clearly demonstrates
that these State Technical Conferences are extremely beneficial. Upcoming Events
State Chapters
State Chapters provide regular opportunities for members and
interested parties to gather for discussion and information sharing
at a local level. Guest speakers share relevant information on a
broad range of topics at these events. These State Chapter events
provide valuable networking opportunities. Upcoming Events
Regulatory Submission Interest Groups
SPAA members are offered regular opportunities for meetings of
Special Interest Groups. These groups are formed from the
Membership base and focus on submissions concerning regulatory
changes and industry issues. The SPAA Regulatory Committee will
finalise all submissions. As the peak industry association, SPAA is
regularly asked to provide independent, non-political knowledge and
information.

SPAA members receive E-communications that provide the latest
industry, legislative and regulatory news. Below is a list of our

Government and Regulatory Advocacy
SPAA's objective is to provide positive outcomes for Members and
the SMSF Industry. SPAA continues to build strong
relationships with Government bodies, and like- minded Professional
Associations and enjoys a close working relationship with key
organisations including ATO, ASIC, APRA , FACS and the ASX.
Find a Professional service
This service allows SMSF trustees
looking for advice to search for a SMSF Specialist Advisor or
Auditor in their State/Territory on the SPAA website.
SMSF consumers are able to view
relevant information about each SMSF Specialist Advisor and/or
Auditor registered with SPAA. The function also provides an
online enquiry to SSA or SSAud professionals generating new leads
for SPAAmembers.
This tool is also used by SPAA
Specialist Members to communicate and network with other
specialists practicing within the Industry.
Online Education
SPAA understands that members from regional Australia may not
have the same opportunities to attend technical sessions to further
their knowledge in SMSFs as those in major cities. SPAA will soon
launch Online Education sessions to provide monthly Technical
Updates for regional members.
Member Forum
The SPAA Member Forum has been developed to provide SPAA members
with a platform to share ideas and hold discussions on key issues
within the SMSF industry. Visit the SPAA Member Forum in the
Members' Area and you will be able to:
- read current and relevant technical queries and responses
posted by SPAA members;
- have your say on upcoming SPAA submissions & technical
matters; and
- share your suggestions and feedback with SPAA and other
members.
Member Concessions
SPAA has regularly negotiates concessional arrangements for
Members with Sponsors. This provides Members with a range of
concessional rates for products and services offered by our Sponsor
organisations. Please keep an eye out for special offers.
